Chapter one — the beginning

About CreateMethod

CreateMethod started with a daily appointment with a paintbrush.

4:30 pm, every afternoon

In 2017, I began teaching myself to paint in my basement, showing up every afternoon at 4:30 to experiment, make plenty of bad work, and return the next day to do it all over again. But painting slowly changed how I approached uncertainty. I learned to make things before having all the answers, test concepts without treating every attempt as a verdict, and stop waiting for certainty before taking action.

An unexpected placeII

New habits followed me to my marketing business.

One practice affected my two main roles

Suddenly, I pitched bolder ideas, tested concepts in the wild, and let real-world feedback shape the work instead of polishing it privately until I felt brave. I took bigger swings, moved faster, and trusted my ability to adapt in motion.

A few years later, I started wondering if the changes in my business were connected to what I had learned through art. The research revealed they were.

6 Steps in the Ideation CycleIII

6 Steps in the Ideation Cycle

With research under my belt,  I eventually reverse-engineered my lived experience into the six C.R.E.A.T.E. pillars so that I could help others.

  1. Hand-drawn magnifying glass with a winding arrow passing through it

    Curiosity

Following an idea without needing to know where it ends.

  2. Hand-drawn clock ringed by repeating marks

    Ritual

    Establishing consistent anchors.

  3. Hand-drawn beakers and flasks with liquid pouring between them

    Experimentation

Treating risk as useful data rather than a threat.

  4. Hand-drawn hand placing a glowing lightbulb onto a sketched plan

    Application

Forcing ideas out of abstract thought and into tangible form with quick bursts of public feedback.

  5. Hand-drawn pair of profiles with a bridge connecting an abstract thought cloud to a structured diagram

    Translation

Learning to explain strategic or intuitive thinking to my team.

  6. Hand-drawn seedling growing up and out beyond its framed square

    Expansion

Releasing the work, accepting feedback, and letting it grow beyond its initial scope.

The Discovery

One Size Fits One

Two core spectrums repeatedly surfaced in my research: Structure vs. Spontaneity and Depth vs. Breadth. I created an assessment and mapped eight CreateMethod Archetypes, so that the framework could be useful for different working styles(the translation pillar in use, btw).

Eight Archetypes. Eight Working Styles.

Testing, cohorts, and group coaching revealed that every archetype has a predictable place where momentum breaks. Here are a few examples—

  • A Polymath sees so many possibilities that focus divides.
  • A Passionate cares so deeply about the work that refinement never stops.
  • A Master Builder has brilliant internal vision but waits too long to release it, and often misses the opportunity entirely.
  • An Innovator sees breakthroughs instantly but then loses interest immediately.

The core engine

This became the core engine of CreateMethod:

  1. Understand the working style.
  2. Identify the predictable stall point.
  3. Help leaders master the pillars needed to break through the stall.

150+ Professionals Have Improved Their Businesses

Over 150 professionals and leaders have been coached through CreateMethod, each applying it to solve their distinct challenges. My lived experience wasn’t a one-off; businesses are improving:

  • A cautious Minimalist launched her own consultation company and mastered AI tools.

  • A Maverick grew his e-commerce revenue from $10,000 to $63,000 per month.

  • A Master Builder running a photography business reduced project turnaround times by 50%.

  • A Polymath built the focus required to transition a side hustle into a full-time career.

  • A Trendsetter mastered the communication skills needed to align her team around a shared vision and grew her decentralized company.

  • An Expressionist started sharing her art and it led to partnering with a therapist's practice to help others.

Clients recognized where their natural tendencies created their own bottleneck, mastered the pillars they neede, and started to execute with more speed and confidence consistently.

We will spend 20 minutes discussing your friction points and see if CreateMethod is a fit for your culture.

2.

Get Team Assessment & Leadership Coaching

Your entire team and leadership get assessed. Managers are equipped with practical, archetype-specific tools for leading different working styles.

3.

See Accelerated Team Execution

You reduce preventable friction and move high-value initiatives from strategy to completed output.

In the age of AI,

  • Someone driven by endless curiosity can now generate even more options.
  • Someone who over-refines can use AI to create ten more versions.
  • Someone who struggles to turn a strong idea into a clear strategy may produce more material without producing with clarity.

A manager still needs to understand what kind of friction is affecting output.

I know you want to build a high-performing organization that delivers results without your constant intervention. To do that, you need a practical way to lead, coach, and align high-capacity people who work in fundamentally different ways.

People perform differently under different kinds of pressure. When you ignore those differences, teams can spend unnecessary energy working around the process instead of moving the work forward.

Don't let working style diversity gaps define what you ship.
